Comprehensive Feature and UI Enhancements in Upgrade

MicroMain Corporation, a leading provider of asset and facility management software and services, today announced the release of version 7.2 of MicroMain Maintenance Management software. This computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) is used in more than 5,000 sites worldwide.

“This is one of the most comprehensive upgrades ever for MicroMain software,” said Pat Conroy, President of MicroMain. “Our Development Team has taken a great user interface and made it even easier to navigate and set personal preferences. We’ve also added very significant functionality within the core program and as add-on options.”

The new MicroMain Security Administrator improves the level of role/permissions control with a simple point-and-click interface. Administrators can import user profiles from Microsoft Active Directory® or manually create new users and groups. Then they easily set up groups by role or department and determine permissions for the group and/or individual users. Color-coded permissions allow administrators to see at a glance who has full access, limited access such as “add/edit” or “read only,” or no access to specific system features or functionality.

In addition to the Security Administrator, MicroMain Maintenance Management also includes new Work Order Archiver and Data Dictionary utilities.

Many features have been added to MicroMain’s software due to customer requests. One such request, which expanded functionality beyond standard maintenance, was for rounds functionality. With this new feature in version 7.2, users can set up checkpoints and schedule security rounds. Using barcode-enabled PDAs, security or other night-duty personnel can verify that doors are secure, check that exit lights are working, or confirm condition or status of other assets. As each checkpoint is scanned, instructions can be displayed on the PDA to describe actions to be taken based on observed conditions. This feature allows anyone to conduct scheduled rounds with minimum training.

Work order service escalation is a new 7.2 feature available as an add-on to the core program. With this feature, users can ensure that service requests are addressed within a specified period of time. When a request for service is received, a series of email notifications is automatically triggered to alert appropriate personnel.

In addition to these major features, customers have been pleased to see new options for parts cloning, “my work orders” for individual maintenance staff, and work order posting to labor calendars. Improvements also include expanded use of barcodes, new alerts, and additional email options. Enhanced purchase order features include new formats, new part filters, and additional cost/tax fields and calculations.

More than 40 reports have been added to the 400-plus standard reports already available with MicroMain Maintenance Management. In addition, new filtering options allow users to generate a virtually unlimited number of reports detailing specific information and date ranges. With version 7.2, users can group report “favorites” and easily export reports to Microsoft Excel® spreadsheets.

With version 7.2, MicroMain continues to provide a healthcare version of the software aimed at addressing biomedical department needs.
