MicroMain Expands Services with Regional Training Center

CMMS Leader Opens New Regional Training Center in Chicago

(April 7, 2004) AUSTIN, TX - MicroMain Corporation, a leading provider of asset and facility management software and services, today announced that the company has expanded its service offerings by opening a new regional training center in Chicago, IL. The first training session took place in March, and two-day training sessions will be offered each month.

In addition to on-site training or remote training via the Internet, MicroMain users now have the option of attending sessions at the corporate training center in Austin, TX, or at its new authorized training center in Chicago. Most of the training in Austin and Chicago focuses on MicroMain XM™, the company’s flagship product. MicroMain XM is a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)/enterprise asset management (EAM) system used in more than 4,700 facilities around the world.

The new regional training center is located at the office of a MicroMain Alliance Partner, Viasant, an industrial maintenance and management company specializing in CMMS/EAM systems and support. Joe Jurzec, the lead trainer at the Chicago training center, has developed and managed the CMMS/EAM services market for Viasant for more than 10 years.

“We’re delighted that MicroMain chose our site for its first authorized regional training center,” said Jurzec, a Partner in Viasant. “We’ve worked with MicroMain for many years, and we’re pleased that our track record in providing CMMS/EAM training and services has resulted in this extension of our partnership.”

One of the first to take advantage of the Chicago training was Tom Temple, Facilities Engineer with Baker & Taylor, Inc.—a leading supplier of books, video and music products for libraries and retailers worldwide. A new user, Temple said he is looking forward to moving from a mostly manual system to MicroMain XM.

“It’s so important to get started right,” Temple said. “This training helped us set up data correctly and understand how to best utilize MicroMain XM. The course and the instructor were both first rate.”

“Expanding our service offerings with this regional training center in Chicago will enable many of our users to get the hands-on training that they want,” said John Conroy, Director of Services with MicroMain. “There’s no doubt that the key to quality maintenance is a well-trained staff. We provide excellent software, and training ensures that our customers get the most out of that software.”
