MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS IMPLEMENTS MS2000T Facility Standardization of MicroMain CMMS Begins
(February 21, 2002) AUSTIN, TX - Managing the maintenance activities of the over 30 correctional facilities within the Michigan Department of Corrections is now being completely automated with the implementation of MS2000™ - a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) developed by MicroMain Corporation.
According to the Michigan Department of Corrections annual report, the department is "about serving the citizens of Michigan with a cost-effective operations, one that manages convicted felons in a safe and human manner."
In accordance with this goal, the department organized a CMMS Committee to review a number of systems and determine standardization goals - and ultimately selected the MicroMain MS2000™ solution to be implemented facility-wide.
"We are moving forward now with training and customization of department data across all the facilities," says Wes Amann, VP of Sales at MicroMain. "Facilities are being put on-line in phases and we anticipate all facilities to be up and running in the next few months."
The implementation plan includes the standardization of facility maintenance data, managed by the Michigan Department of Corrections central office and being utilized to compare facility maintenance information in all locations.
