MicroMain Expands Services for Facility Managers
Comprehensive CAFM Services Spurred by Growing Number of
Customers Using MicroMain FM
(January 24, 2006) AUSTIN, TX — MicroMain Corporation, a leading provider of asset and facility management software and services, today announced the expansion of its computer-aided facility management (CAFM) services.
In addition to MicroMain’s services related to the MicroMain XM™ computerized maintenance management (CMMS) suite, the company is now providing a wide range of services to customers using MicroMain FM™. This CAFM product allows users to visualize facilities and manage more efficiently using data-enabled facility drawings.
The new MicroMain CAFM services include digitizing paper facility drawings, standardizing drawings, updating drawings and creating drawings. Many customers also take advantage of MicroMain’s polylining services. Polylining, which takes place within the AutoCAD® program, defines boundaries of rooms or other specific types of facility space. Polylining facilitates the accurate calculation of building and area square footage.
MicroMain’s facility management services also include data conversion, software implementation, and consulting. MicroMain also provides training options for MicroMain FM and fmPOWERTOOLS, the AutoCAD toolbar that enables users to link facility data—such as equipment, tenants or staff, facility projects, and building infrastructure such as air handlers, electrical service, or network equipment—to facility drawings.
“The growing number of customers using MicroMain FM is driving our expansion of facility management services,” said John Conroy, Director of Services at MicroMain. “We’re finding that many customers need help with their drawings, from creating to cleaning up to data-enabling for better FM utilization. After their drawings are in place and their software implementation complete, customers also draw upon our consulting services to help them meet their specific needs.
“One school district, for example, recently bought our software because it was easier to use than their current system,” he added. “After providing drawing-related services and training their users, we helped this customer determine how to best use their data-enabled drawings for evacuation and tornado plans.”
MicroMain’s CAFM services are available on-site at customer locations. Data conversion and follow-up consultations are available through the company’s Austin headquarters.
