Alliance Offers Hotels New Operations Software
including Maintenance and Facility Management

(August 31, 2005) AUSTIN, TX — MicroMain Corporation, a leading provider of asset and facility management software and services, and Metromedia Software, Inc., a leading provider of hotel operations management software, today announced their strategic alliance. With this partnership, Metromedia Software is providing hotels with an integrated operations management system addressing ongoing and emergency maintenance tasks as well as tasks addressing guest requests.

Metromedia’s HotelEXPERT software, which receives guest requests and tracks responsiveness and completed tasks, is now integrated with MicroMain XM™, MicroMain’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), which manages preventive and emergency maintenance for the hotel. The integrated software is also available with MicroMain FM™, MicroMain’s computer aided facility management (CAFM) system, which offers a visual approach to facility maintenance. This Visuals-driving Engineering (VISE) system allows hotel staff to click on data-enabled hotel CAD drawings to locate equipment, check maintenance histories, schedule repairs, or plan for a renovation.

Some of the first hotels to take advantage of the new integrated software were users of the stand-alone HotelEXPERT or MicroMain XM. Other hotels have chosen to replace their existing system with the new VISE system made possible through the Metromedia Software-MicroMain alliance.

HotelEXPERT integrated with MicroMain’s maintenance and facility management software allows managers to streamline procedures, such as setting up preventive maintenance tasks for the engineering department. Recurring tasks can also be scheduled for other departments, such as VIP greetings for the front desk, brass polishing for the night cleaning crew, mattress rotation for housekeeping, and key lock re-charging for security. Data-enabled CAD drawings allow staff to see the hotels visually and use the electronic drawings in task management. For example, staff can have the electronic drawings display all fire extinguishers in the hotel in preparation for an inspection, locate all rooms with a specific carpet, or click on equipment such as a malfunctioning stove to create a maintenance work order.
