MicroMain and MateriaLink Announce Partnership

With Alliance, MicroMain Customers Have New E-Procurement Options

(April 13, 2005) AUSTIN, TX and GREENVILLE, SC— MicroMain Corporation, a leading provider of asset and facility management software and services, and MateriaLink, Inc., a leading provider of procurement solutions, today announced their new strategic partnership. With this alliance, MicroMain customers will be able to take advantage of electronic procurement options for parts, materials and services needed for their maintenance and facility operations.

MateriaLink™, a vendor communication tool, will allow MicroMain customers to use Internet-based procurement, including request-for-quote bids and purchase orders. The procurement data will be drawn from MicroMain XM™, the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)/enterprise asset management (EAM) system used by MicroMain customers. All supplier, cost, and transaction information will also be entered into MicroMain XM, which will simplify data management, including procurement reports.

MateriaLink will also integrate with MicroMain FM™, the company’s computer aided facility management (CAFM) system. Many MicroMain customers use MicroMain FM in conjunction with MicroMain XM.

Facility and maintenance managers using MicroMain systems will be able to use MateriaLink to save time with electronic rather than manual procurement. MicroMain customers will also be able to save money by securing the best price for goods and services. Automated bid tabulation, expanded supplier base, and automated documentation are provided by the procurement tool, as well. MateriaLink will also track unit pricing and documentation, effectively creating a procurement audit trail.

"We’re committed to providing simple, flexible solutions that improve procurement for organizations across all industries,” said James Smith, President and CEO of MateriaLink, Inc.. “We’re confident that MateriaLink will help MicroMain customers dramatically streamline the cumbersome process of obtaining competitive pricing and issuing purchase orders.”

MicroMain customers manage hospitals, schools, universities, office buildings, retirement centers, malls, military bases, distribution centers, airports, and manufacturing plants. Many resorts, hotels and sports arenas also use MicroMain systems. A significant number of users manage assets and sites through local, state and federal government agencies.

“MicroMain is pleased to partner with MateriaLink in providing a valuable service to our customers,” said Pat Conroy, President of MicroMain. “Our goal is to help customers achieve the highest quality of maintenance and facility management while saving money. An e-procurement tool for parts, materials and services will clearly further that goal.”
