Micromain Corporation - MicroMain XM with RFID Selected as Finalist for Product of the Year

(October 14, 2004) AUSTIN, TX - MicroMain Corporation, a leading provider of asset and facility management software and services, today announced that the RFID-enabled version of MicroMain XM™, its flagship computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)/enterprise asset management (EAM) system, has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Product of the Year contest sponsored by Plant Engineering Magazine.

This annual contest highlights new products in the plant engineering market. A panel of industry experts reviews nominated products and selects finalists for the Product of the Year award. In November, subscribers to Plant Engineering Magazine vote and ultimately select winners in 16 different award categories. MicroMain XM with RFID is a finalist in the General and Maintenance Software category.

To be eligible for the 2004 Product of the Year award, plant engineering-related products had to be introduced for purchase between October 1, 2003 and September 30, 2004.

MicroMain XM with RFID is the first fully integrated RFID-enabled CMMS/EAM offered by a major CMMS vendor. This product was developed by MicroMain and Cathexis Innovations, Inc., a global leader in asset management technologies headquartered in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. This new version incorporates Cathexis’ RFID middleware solution, the RFID Engine™, so that assets can be managed with radio frequency identification in addition to or instead of bar codes.
