Physical Counts and Inventory

Taking physical counts of parts inventory using a Pocket PC saves you time with no manual data entry. You’ll also see improvements in accuracy as the counts are electronically uploaded to the MicroMain database. You can save even more time by using a barcode scanner with your handheld device and the MicroMain Inventory software.

This functionality for physical counts and inventory allows your technicians and clerks to take counts by using a stylus or keyboarding counts using the Pocket PC. Because the count is taken using a parts list downloaded from the MicroMain database, there is less room for error. At the end of the count, your workforce can upload their data wirelessly or through cable synching to automatically update the MicroMain database.

Use the software to view adjustment details, using the transaction logs—the log records every adjustment to a part’s on-hand level. Variance reports will also help you compare the quantities and costs of adjustments. Additional reports will give you information on parts use frequency, counts by person and date range, inactive parts, and part location, manufacturer and control number.

In addition to physical counts using a Pocket PC, you can also use MicroMain Inventory to issue parts to and remove parts from labor and assets. You can also assign, add or remove parts used for your work orders as they are checked in and out of your parts warehouse or inventory location.
