MicroMain Facility Management Software
Data-enabled Drawings
MicroMain will help you create initial drawings, convert current drawings, standardize drawings, and digitize any paper drawings so that they are ready to be data-enabled for usage with MicroMain software. If your facility drawings are already digitized, you can use an AutoCAD tool to link drawing objects to your MicroMain database. MicroMain works inside AutoCAD to provide a graphical interface to facility drawings.
With a simple point-and-click interface, you can link areas, physical assets such as equipment, and personnel to drawing objects. Polylines are used to delineate area boundaries and blocks are used to represent physical assets. Each customer determines the settings that are used to automatically define room area calculations, room hatching, and legend generation.
As your facilities change over time, you can easily update your drawings and update the data linked to the drawings. MicroMain can also help you with this service, if you desire.
Location of Areas, People and Equipment
With drawings enabled with real-time data, you can visualize, store, and track facility occupants and labor, as well as areas and assets. With a few clicks, you can find any person, area, or equipment.
With the “Find” feature in MicroMain, you can locate occupants, tenants, employees, or other people related to the facility—the areas they occupy are highlighted on the drawing. A photo, contact information, and a detailed occupancy history for each individual may also be accessed. Specific information for staff/contract labor and suppliers is also readily available.
In locating specific rooms or areas, users often choose to view the space by color across the facility drawing. You can also access pictures of rooms or areas.
Equipment or asset locations can be similarly viewed graphically in drawings. You can track assets by type, location, or department. View pictures of equipment, locate all assets with the same user-determined label, or track equipment contact information. You can also view the maintenance history for each asset, equipment, or equipment component.
Facility Management Projects
Customers often use MicroMain to manage facility projects, including maintenance, and to share information with others in the organization. You can store project details, and track time, costs, and current status of projects. You can also attach documents, drawings, and other media files to projects.
For projects focused on maintenance, you can create and manage basic work orders and include drawings on work orders to show exactly what needs to be done, increasing accuracy. MicroMain also tracks maintenance project time, costs, and current project status.
Easy-to-use markup tools help in project management, too. You can easily add text and graphics to facility drawings to convey a message or call attention to a problem.
Sharing markups with others involves simply copying and pasting drawings including markups to any Windows-compliant program.
Emergencies and Problem Resolution
The visual representation of facility data in drawings helps you more easily develop emergency plans and immediately trace problems to their sources. You can see not only where all of your people are, but also all areas including exit routes and all equipment located in your facility.
One of the key advantages in using MicroMain Facility Management is being able to visualize the real-world relationships between the components of your facility infrastructure and the areas they service. These relationships can be graphically displayed to provide detailed utility management information and provide the foundation for an effective emergency response plan. These relationships will also help you pinpoint problems or lead to the problem’s source and, ultimately, resolution.
You can also use the level of detail shown in your data-enabled drawings to develop emergency plans. This can include evacuation plans, lock-down plans, or contingency plans in case of natural disaster.
Reports
When using all of MicroMain’s functionality, you’ll have access to more than 700 standard reports. These reports allow you to measure progress and see the results of your work in managing your facility, plant, or organization.
Many MicroMain reports can be filtered on data within the report. You can also generate reports within your own specified date range. In this way, you have access to a virtually unlimited number of reports detailing the precise information you need.
Standard MicroMain reports are sorted into groups including completed work orders, open work orders, projects, tasks, assets, parts, and labor. Other groups include purchase orders, contracts, vehicles, buildings, meters, and tools. Many facility management reports focus on drawings, occupancy—including churn rate, density factors, and vacant space—and areas, including by tenants and assets. Reports related to deferred maintenance/capital planning include those detailing buildings, capital plans, capital requests, and cost estimates.
Many reports in MicroMain offer budget comparisons, cost analyses, time-and-cost or time-and-charge analyses, cost estimates, charge back, and cost summary information. Total cost of ownership (TCO) reports for assets provide valuable information, as do month-to-date, year-to-date, and life-to-date costs per part or asset. This information is also used to create productivity and trend analyses.
In addition to narrative reports, MicroMain offers Gantt-style project reports and many graphs to easily show percentages or comparisons. You can also select from many barcode printing options to print your barcodes.
You can also easily create your own reports, customize reports to include your own terminology, and combine several reports into a unique batch report. You can import data from Microsoft Office applications, too, in creating specific reports.
