Which platforms do your products support?
MicroMain’s products are based on the latest industry database platforms including Microsoft® Access® and Microsoft® SQL Server™. Modules for mobile work orders/inspections use the Palm OS® and Pocket PC operating system.
What’s your primary source language?
Microsoft’s Visual Basic® and Visual Basic for Applications are the primary source languages used for most of MicroMain’s products.
Are you moving to .NET?
MicroMain released its first Microsoft .NET-connected application in 2003, xmMOBILE™ for Pocket PC. Additional modules, including xmWEB™ followed in 2004. The company is in the process of porting all of its products to .NET, utilizing Visual Basic and C# in Microsoft’s Visual Studio .NET environment.
What are your hardware requirements?
MicroMain’s software does not require any special hardware. Standard Pentium class server and client computers are sufficient.
MicroMain’s xmMOBILE module runs on handheld devices, including mobile phones, utilizing the Palm OS or Pocket PC operating system.
Is your software available via ASP?
All MicroMain software is available via the Internet. The software is installed and hosted at MicroMain's world-class data center through a partnership with Technology Solutions.
Why do you provide customers with your source code?
MicroMain XM™ and MicroMain FM™ are shipped “open,” with all source code included, to allow customers to customize the software as they wish. Some customers customize on their own and others use third-party developers. MicroMain does not charge extra for source code and believes each customer should be able to have complete control over its software.
