MicroMain Facility Management
Improve day-to-day facility management, plan for the future, save money
With MicroMain™ Facility Management, you can improve your day-to-day facility management and better plan for the future. This computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software will help you with space planning, move management, maintenance, and other FM operations. Data-enabled drawings—CAD drawings dynamically integrated with your facility information—enable you to visualize your facilities, manage more efficiently, and save money.
Link Drawings to Data
By linking your facility data to your facility drawings, you will be able to see not only your space and square footage, but also your equipment, people, and supporting infrastructure. This visual representation of your facility will help you:
- View your current situation
- Review asset, maintenance, and move histories
- Plan for the future
If your drawings are already digitized, you can use an AutoCAD tool to link drawing objects to your MicroMain database. MicroMain works inside AutoCAD to provide a graphical interface to facility drawings.
MicroMain makes it easy to link your DWGs to your database, and makes it easy to categorize and color-code your drawings in the way that makes the most sense for your organization. You decide for yourself how you want to draw—without predefined layer standards, special blocks, or complicated drawing rules. You determine the:
- Level of detail for your drawings
- Color and pattern settings
- Labels and legend styles
You can also get the help you need to create facility drawings, standardize your drawings, convert your drawings, or digitize your paper drawings so you can use them with your CAFM software.
Improve Operations, Including Maintenance
MicroMain’s software is very flexible, so you can use it in the way that makes the most sense for your organization. Many organizations use CAFM software to manage day-to-day activities, including:
- Facilitating moves for staff or residents
- Locating assets for inspections
- Processing maintenance needs
- Using data to respond to FM helpdesk requests
- Printing facility drawings with work orders
- Running reports
The data from the software also gives you the opportunity to plan for better facility optimization over time. Use MicroMain to:
- Compare space usage by department
- Analyze move histories
- Track maintenance progress
- Evaluate charge-backs
- Review occupancy and vacant space summaries
- Use data and drawings for emergency planning
- Review asset summaries
- Review open and completed work orders
Because the software is easy to use, many customers find that they are able to streamline some facility management processes right away. Without using CAD software, you will be able to view and use your data-enabled drawings immediately, and use the facility drawings to help manage demand maintenance needs. You can also use the program to run easy queries using your drawings, and share the drawings with others in your organization. Of course, operational improvements increase with extended usage, as well.
Unlike other vendors, MicroMain makes its software available “open.” This unprecedented offering gives you complete solution control and flexibility. By having access to the source code, you have the option to use your own staff or third-party programmers for any needed customizations. You can customize core functionality to suit your needs, modify parts of the program, or create your own custom reports.
Easily Locate People, Areas, and Equipment
Using MicroMain Facility Management, you can find any person, area or equipment. Your data-enabled drawings allow you to visualize, store and track:
- Occupants
- Staff and contract labor
- Suppliers
- Space areas
- Assets and equipment
It’s simple to locate people—occupants, tenants, employees or others—related to your facility. Use the “Find” feature to locate individuals, and the areas they occupy will be highlighted on your drawing. You can see a photo of the person and display his or her contact information. For your staff/contract labor and suppliers, you can also view individual labor wage and charge rates.
With MicroMain, you’ll be able to access both current and cumulative occupancy data. This will help you:
- View occupants lists and summaries
- Move people to new locations
- See where space is over- or under-populated
- Determine occupancy by department
- Track vacancies or calculate churn rates
In locating specific rooms or areas, you can view the space by color across your facility drawing. You can also store and access pictures of rooms or areas. View account hatch patterns, track square footage for charge-backs to business units, or use the area data to determine your future space needs.
Equipment, or asset, locations can be similarly viewed graphically in drawings—for example, you could search for all of the fire extinguishers in your facility and have them appear in your data-enabled drawing. You can also:
- Track assets by type, location, or department
- View pictures of equipment
- Locate all assets with the same user-defined label
- Track equipment contact information
- View the maintenance history for each asset, equipment, or equipment component
Plan for Emergencies
Whether to comply with regulations or to create a safe environment for your facility occupants, you can use MicroMain software to help plan for emergencies. The data-enabled drawings are a valuable tool in determining evacuation routes, emergency exits, and life/safety procedures—all part of emergency response and recovery planning.
In addition to the drawings, MicroMain Facility Management also helps you to identify specific equipment items that support other equipment items that can be vital to emergency responses; the equipment could include panel breakers that feed electrical outlets, routers that connect to data jacks, valves that control water fixtures, or fire sprinkler systems that service particular floors of your facility. The primary equipment and their supporting dependent assets are often critical components of emergency plans. These dependencies can be displayed in your data-enabled drawings, providing immediate visual access to your facility infrastructure. Not only can these be used to trace problems, but also to provide first-step solutions for facility emergencies.
Of course in some cases you can also use your data and drawings to resolve problems before they escalate into emergencies.
Unlike other vendors, MicroMain provides both the computer-aided facility management (CAFM) functionality with the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) functionality—in one system, using one database. This streamlines workflow and saves you time and money.
See the Benefits
In addition to improving day-to-day operations efficiencies and strategic planning, you will see the benefits of MicroMain’s easy-to-use software through:
- Thorough emergency planning
- Accurate space reporting
- Reductions in lost income/budget regarding space utilization
- Increased workforce productivity
- Evacuation preparedness
- Increased customer or staff satisfaction
- Centralized facility data
- Cost savings immediately and long-term
With MicroMain, you can use the standard reports included with the facility management software, specifically related to occupants, occupancy, facility drawings, areas, assets, and labor. You’ll be able to take advantage of analysis and summary reports related to accounts, charge backs, work orders, and projects. You can also create specific reports, as needed, through easy filtering or customization.
